Babak baru tinggal diluar Depok

Setelah beberapa lama menimang tawaran tugas luar, akhirnya kami sekeluarga meninggalkan Depok untuk bertugas di luar. Negara tujuan adalah USA, spesifiknya adalah di Houston Texas. Kami mengucap Bismillahirohmanirrohim untuk tugas baru kami bertiga ini (dengan istri dan anak).

Entah kebetulan atau karena lain hal, pada saat kami mendapatkan mobil yg disewakan oleh kantor, Chevrolet Impala lah mobil nya. Wah artinya saya bisa merasakan impala di 2 jaman. Yg pertama keluaran tahun 1964, sekarang dapat impala tahun 2009. Mobil bertenaga 5.8 liter v8 ini memang menjadi ciri khas mobil2 Amerika yg mermesin besar. Bagi saya yg biasa nya pakai Ford Everest dan Honda Jazz di Jakarta pasti ada sedikit perbedaan dengan tenaga mesin mobil ini. Dan yg lebih spesifik lagi....disini kursi kemudinya di sebelah kiri. Wah orientasi dulu nih:)

Ini jadinya kalau orang sudah menyatu di hatinya dengan dunia restorasi mobil. Ternyata tidak sedikit restorer tanah air yang menghidupkan kembali spesies langka ini...Daihatsu midget aka bemo. Mau ikutan gabung????

A YearOne Landy?

After a while doing this project, finally the D day is come. Well....this might not quiet a YearOne Land Rover SIIA but I am pleased with his re-new life debut. Enjoy everyone.

Who dare to work on this - Mistubishi GTO

This is the story on how I got the inforamtion from friend on his newly found Mitsubishi GTO. This fellow asked me if I wanted to restore this beast on curent condition. Well, the offer itself is very tempted because this is one in million car you can get here in my place. But......there is a long list of but:

1. Some of the metal shell are gone by rust

2. Unsure if the parts still can be found around. If they are, I am sure the price won't be reasonalble.

At the end I am just standing and watching every single peice left from this beauty muscle from the past....hoping an answer from the question....are you dare to do the work on the car.

Datsun 1200 Ute Update

And here they are after being ingnore for quiet sometimes. Engine is on it's place, all of the body work is done and now ready for the painting. Got some shipmet from Oz of some nity grity accessories as well.

Push for completion for the next gathering I hope.

Stripped Off Landy SIIA

Here are my Landy Series 2A 1967, after being stripped off at the local workshop near my place. Things that are working on progress: engine overhaul (replaced all of the pistons), harness replacement, total body restoration. I will add some snorkel and roof rack to flavour the adventure look on to the car.

Hopefully will be up and run in 3 weeks. Cross the finger....lol.

Hidden treasure - Ford Capri somewhere in Cilegon

Ceritanya pas lagi pergi ke Cilegon pagi ini. Tanpa sengaja saya berhenti di bengkel cuci mobil untuk mencuci mobil saya setelah perjalanan di tol Jakarta - Merak yang berdebu dan hujan kecil. Ternyata di bengkel cuci tersebut ter parkir Ford Capri yg kondisinya cukup menggemaskan untuk dibangun.

Saya menghampiri pemilik bengkel bertanya2 tentang mobil itu. Om Andi pemilik nya (pemilik bengkel juga). Ternyata saat ini sedang dalam proses restorasi...wah ada teman pikir saya. Setengah jam berikutnya sambil nunggu mobil selesai dicuci om Andi menceritakan suka duka membangun mobil ini...good luck om Andi.

Datsun Valentine's gathering

Ini acara pas Valentine gathering di UI Depok. Rekan2 lainnya yg berhalangan atau yg belum bisa gabung kami tunggu di acara berikutnya yah....salam.
